Washington, DC — February 11, 2019 – Thycotic, provider of privileged access management (PAM) solutions for more than 10,000 organizations worldwide, announced today that CRN®, a brand of The Channel Company, has named its Vice President of Channel Sales for the Americas, Bob Gagnon, to its prestigious list of 2019 Channel Chiefs. The top IT channel leaders included on this list continually strive to drive growth and revenue in their organization through their channel partners.

Each of the 2019 Channel Chiefs has demonstrated exceptional leadership, vision, and commitment to their channel partner programs. Channel Chief honorees are selected by CRN’s editorial staff as a result of their professional achievements, standing in the industry, dedication to the channel partner community, and strategies for driving future growth and innovation.

Having established a solid footing in the mid-market channel during his first three years at the company, Bob Gagnon boldly advanced and diversified the company’s growth segments to include Enterprise and Managed Services as the hot new growth areas for Thycotic.

With a singular, dedicated focus, Bob Gagnon started by targeting specific groups within the Thycotic channel ecosystem whose primary client base served the enterprise market but had not made meaningful progression to date. By directing his organization to put forth a deliberate lobbying campaign effort highlighting recent enterprise wins, testimonials, and use cases combined with a heavy targeted field engagement schedule, Thycotic’s expansion into the highly profitable Enterprise market rapidly took hold.

Managed services (MSP) were still a relatively new up and coming segment for Thycotic North America in 2018. Bob initiated new partner acquisition charge for managed services early in 2018 and redirected a substantial portion of resources to investment in channel media to drive interest and inbound inquiries. By the end of the year, Thycotic more than tripled the number of MSPs in their channel.

“The individuals on CRN’s 2019 Channel Chiefs list deserve special recognition for their contribution and support in the development of robust partner programs, innovative business strategies, and significant influence to the overall health of the IT channel,” said Bob Skelley, CEO of The Channel Company. “We applaud each Channel Chief’s remarkable record of accomplishments and look forward to following their continued success.”

“At the very beginning of our partner program we set out to ensure we assisted and enabled our partners to seed and harvest new prospects, securing a steady deal registered pipeline for their businesses,” noted Bob Gagnon. “We accomplished this by placing emphasis on end-user outreach that included extensive field engagements, road shows and pertinent messaging that resonates with intended audiences.”

The 2019 CRN Channel Chiefs list, including the 50 Most Influential Channel Chiefs, is featured online and will appear in the February 2019 issue of CRN.
