London, 25th June 2018 – Thycotic, a provider of provider of privileged account management (PAM) solutions for more than 7,500 organisations worldwide, has been awarded ‘Innovative Product of the Year – Threat Detection’ for its Secret Server PAM solution at the annual Cyber Security Awards 2018.

Thycotic Secret Server is designed to safeguard privileged accounts, both on-premise and in the cloud. It ensures privileged secrets are stored, managed and governed in a military-grade vault, where all access and activity is monitored to eliminate risks from unauthorised access. Secret Server allows enterprises and SMEs to manage, share and automatically exchange privileged enterprise secrets (credentials and passwords), which eliminates the need for users to maintain passwords in Word or Excel documents.

The Cyber Security Awards were established in 2014, to reward the best individuals, teams and companies within the cyber security industry. Its aim is to recognise excellence and innovation across the industry, and from organisations all over the world.  The award winners are selected by 10 expert judges with varied backgrounds, who are some of the most well-regarded individuals within the industry.

“We’re really proud to have won this category at the Cyber Security Awards and it’s rewarding to have our hard work and success recognised by peers and leaders in the industry,” said Steve Kahan, Chief Marketing Officer at Thycotic. “Establishing privileged account access controls is a growing priority for organisations as hackers continue to target these accounts to get a foothold within organisations. This, in turn, helps our team to continue developing the best PAM technology for our customers.”

Judge Karla Reffold said, “There were some fantastic entries this year. The industry is moving at an incredible pace, coming up with solutions to keep organisations safe. We all found it incredibly hard to pick the winner in the majority of the categories. All those shortlisted should be proud, and the winners even more so, for beating off some tough competition.”
