Active Directory Add-On
Active Directory: Synchronization and Authentication
Active Directory is the standard in most corporations for managing servers, workstations, users and printers. Secret Server's Active Directory Add-On provides synchronization and authentication for Active Directory users. With our Active Directory Add-On, you have one less password to remember and receive all the same password restrictions and policies on that password as provided by Active Directory.
Here are some features that Secret Server offers Active Directory users:- Automatically creating user accounts in Secret Server based on Active Directory
- Automatically synchronizing Secret Server groups and membership with Active Directory groups
- Allowing Active Directory usernames to be assigned to existing Secret Server accounts
- Change your Active Directory password within Secret Server
The Active Directory Add-On for Secret Server 4.0 requires an additional license which can be purchased here.
How does Active Directory integrate with our password manager?
 - Install the Active Directory Add-On License (get it here)
- Go to Administration - Active Directory
- Turn on "Enable Active Directory Integration"
- Enter your "Active Directory Domain
- Turn on "Authenticate Password against Active Directory"
- Save
- Ensure that your Secret Server username on your user matches your Active Directory username
- Logout and login using your Active Directory password
Note that you can still use your Secret Server password if your Active Directory server is unavailable.
Customers purchasing the Active Directory Add-On License will be entitled to all future improvements of the Active Directory Integration as the functionality deepens.
